2024 Yukon Quest Race Design

2024 Yukon Quest Race Design

The Yukon Quest Alaska is proud to announce the unveiling of our 2024 race design. The design represents the excitement, energy, and spirit of the annual race that attracts mushers and fans from around the world.

This year, we chose to work with a local artist to highlight the importance of support within the Alaskan and mushing communities.

Emily runs Wildthings Dog Mushing with her husband, Richie Beattie. Emily personally helps manage and train the dog team and has less to do with racing, but as of 2023 she finished her first YQA80! Richie is an avid mush and is a 3X Yukon Quest finisher and an Iditarod finisher. Emily and Richie split their time between Fairbanks and Cantwell, where they run their summer tour business with their dogs.

Emily is also an artist and works within a large variety of mediums. She has received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Photography, but also does graphic design, painting, jewelry making, and most recently, tattooing.

Emily said, “I am continuously inspired by the Alaskan world around me, which often is the main focus in my work in any of these mediums.”

“We are thrilled to unveil our new design for the 2024 Yukon Quest Alaska races,” said Lisa Nilson, YQA Executive Director. “The design captures the essence of what makes our race so special – the history of the Yukon Quest, the amazing dogs, and the breathtaking beauty of the Alaskan wilderness.”

The 2024 YQA will take place on Saturday, February 3, 2024, and is sure to be a highlight of the winter sports calendar in Interior Alaska! For more information about the 2024 Yukon Quest Alaska races, read this article.
