The Yukon Quest Alaska is pleased to announce the appointment of Lisa Nilson (Laiti) as its new Executive Director. Lisa, a third-generation Fairbanks, Alaskan, brings a wealth of experience in fundraising, event planning, and management to the position.
Lisa’s background in community involvement and volunteer work will undoubtedly be a great asset to the Yukon Quest Alaska. In her free time, she and her husband, Hayden Nilson, coach youth hockey teams for Hockey Club Fairbanks, giving back to the community they grew up in.
“I am so thankful for the opportunity to support such an important event in Fairbanks history, as well as the mushing and Fairbanks community,” said Lisa. “I am excited to help grow the Yukon Quest Alaska into the premier sled dog race in interior Alaska”.
Lisa’s appointment comes at an exciting time for the Yukon Quest Alaska. With her experience and enthusiasm, the organization is well-positioned to continue its tradition of excellence and growth.
